5 Things You Must Know Before Praying in Tongues For a Miracle

I’m sure you’ve had people say that praying in tongues will get you miracles. That is true.

However, for some people, that truth is very questionable. That is because, despite all diligence in praying in tongues, no miracle seems to be coming their way.

In this piece, I’m going to give you five things you must know if you want to pray in tongues for a miracle and receive it.

I have prayed in tongues on many occasions and had many miracles. I’ve talked about some of the miracles on this channel already. I’m sharing this knowledge based on my own experience.

Ready to learn? Here we go…

You pray in tongues to build faith that delivers miracles

This is the correct procedure you must have in mind when praying in tongues. With this mindset, you will expect miracles from your faith and not from your tongues, and that is huge.

Many believers who feel their tongues are powerless usually expect miracles directly from their tongues.

Think of it this way: do farmers expect a harvest from their farm equipment or from their crops? We all know it is from their crops. But for those crops to grow, the farmer uses farm equipment.

Tongues are your farm equipment. The crops are your faith.

See what Jude 1:20 says…

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Praying in tongues is largely a tool to build your faith. Miracles will come from your faith.

Miracles don’t feel like miracles

When many believers testify of what God has done for them, their narration is heavily driven by emotions. Those heavy emotions largely come from the preparation of the miracle and not the miracle itself.

Unfortunately, many believers praying for a miracle expect a surge of emotions to come from the miracle itself. That is a big mistake. Let me explain…

Miracles feel very strange. They don’t make you happy; they only relieve you of a pressing danger.

If you were sick and got a miracle healing, you don’t feel happy, you just become normal. If you were Lazarus and you were dead and Jesus raised you from death, you would just become alive like everybody else. It doesn’t feel special.

This is very important to know because God only gives miracles to people who understand that miracles are not trophies to make you happy, rather they are mere solutions to save you from impending disaster.

Plan for life after the miracle

This is a big one. You know that verse where Jesus says if you ask for something, believe you have it, and it will be done for you?

I believe it’s Mark 11:24.

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them

The only way to fulfill this verse is by planning what you will do after the miracle. That is the only way you can prove to God that you believe the miracle will happen.

If you want God to give you a miracle house, ask yourself, what will I be doing after I get the miracle house?

The answer to that question is exactly what you should start doing.

It is usually paradoxical, but that is exactly what God is looking for.

When the blind man wanted his eyes opened, Jesus smeared mud on his eyes and told him to go wash off the mud.

Naturally, smearing mud on the eyes blurs eyesight, and asking a blind man to go find a pool is borderline insanity.

But why did Jesus do it? He basically made the situation of the blindman worse and asked him to do a nearly impossible task.

Well, Jesus did it to create an opportunity for the blindman to act like someone who has sight. In so doing, the man acted like someone who sees, and with that faith, his eyes were opened.

This brings me to the fourth point…

Your situation will get worse before a miracle comes

When you start praying for a miracle, it is guaranteed that your situation will get worse before it gets better. If you don’t accept this truth, you kill your chances for a miracle.

When Elijah wanted miracle food provision, God sent him to a widow who was on the brink of starvation herself. On top of Elijah’s own concerns about what he would eat, God added the widow and her son.

Elijah’s situation got worse before the miracle of provision occurred in the house of the widow of Zarephath.

If you want a miracle in your finances, and you start praying about it, you’ll first get extra expenses before the miracle comes.

One time, I wanted to move to a bigger house. I had some money, but it wasn’t enough. As a result, I hesitated in the name of praying and waiting on God.

By the time I decided enough was enough, and I had to move, a friend of mine had moved in with me. My friend had no job and was fully dependent on me.

I couldn’t move while living alone with moderate expenses, but with a dependant and significantly more expenses, I managed to move. How do you even explain that?

Therefore, if you want to speed up your miracle, allow your situation to get worse faster so that it gets solved faster.

The timing of your miracle is dependent on you as much as it is dependent on God

Many believers assume that God has a set time to do a particular miracle in their lives, regardless of everything else. Well, it’s a lot more complex than that.

You see, for a miracle to happen, God is partly implementing His will in your life and partly reacting to your actions.

God’s part in the miracle is largely to create circumstances that push you to need a miracle. Your part in the miracle is largely to act out your faith which is pleasing to God, and He will do a miracle for you.

God will create a man blind and expect the man to act out his faith to receive miraculous healing. God will create situations to drain your finances and expect you to exercise your faith to receive a financial miracle.

This is what makes some people angry at God. That is because the problem that you seek God to solve is partly brought about by God Himself.

But that is also a test from God. It takes great humility to pray to God for a miracle when you know He played a role in bringing about the tough situation.

Take the example of Lazarus; it is God who ordained death for man, yet it is the same God you look upon to raise you from death.

Or the example of Job where God allows the devil to destroy the things He has blessed you with and expects you to call on Him to restore those very things. You almost feel like telling Him, “Why don’t you just stop the devil from taking away the things in the first place?”

But of course, the test is on your faith and humility. God bless you!
