When it comes to praying in tongues, there is no need to worry about false tongues. In the scriptures, the Lord has not provided any information regarding false tongues; instead, He has revealed the true tongues, which are the only ones we need to know as believers
In reality, the devil uses deceptive strategies to lead believers away from praying in tongues by sowing doubt about the authenticity of their tongues. As a result, he often tries to make people question whether their tongues are real or fake.
This mostly happens to believers who are new to the gift of praying in tongues. Typically, the enemy casts doubt on the authenticity of their experience and questioning whether their actions align with biblical teachings.
The enemy seeks to undermine your confidence as a believer by suggesting that the gift of the Holy Spirit may not be genuine. The motive for this tactic is that once you begin to doubt the legitimacy of your tongues, you then ultimately stop praying in tongues.
Provided you are born again and your heart is devoted to Jesus Christ, and you have genuine love for the Holy Spirit, the utterances from your mouth will be bestowed upon you by the Holy Spirit.
There is no need for doubt, investigation, or research; this gift is given to you by the Holy Spirit. As you permit the Holy Spirit to manifest these tongues through you, you will find that your faith is continually strengthened.
The more you engage in this form of prayer, the more proficient you will become in speaking in tongues. As a result, and you will begin to witness the power of the Holy Spirit, which will automatically dispel the doubts cast by the enemy.
Personally, I advise against delving into research on false tongues because it can lead to self-doubt regarding your own spiritual gifts.
The devil used this tactic in the Garden of Eden, where he cast doubt about God’s commands to Eve. By heeding to the serpent’s words, Eve became vulnerable to temptation, resulting in disobedience.
The enemy continues to apply this strategy, and so it is important for you to remain spiritually alert and aware of such deceptions.
The Holy Spirit, as a source of profound wisdom, possesses an understanding of the enemy’s strategies. He provides the necessary guidance regarding praying in tongues. If He detects any doubt about the effectiveness of your prayers, He will take measures to strengthen your faith.
The Holy Spirit is dedicated to nurturing your belief in the gift of speaking in tongues, while the enemy seeks to undermine that faith.
In my own experience, I had numerous questions when I first began praying in tongues and sought answers from church leaders, some of whom were unable to provide clarity.
Now, whenever I have such questions, I turn to the Holy Spirit in prayer, asking for revelation. Most times, the Holy Spirit provides the answers.
