I have been praying in tongues daily for 9 years now. A significant part of this achievement stems from the understanding I gained about the power of my tongue in the spiritual realm. I’ll start by telling you the mistake that many praying-in-tongues believers make, because the revelation I received was given to fix this mistake.

The mistake of many praying-in-tongues believers is that they underestimate the power of their own tongues. As a result, they weaken their own tongues in the spiritual realm.

This mistake leads many praying in tongues believers to ask, “Why are my tongues not powerful?” They pray in tongues, but they don’t feel any power in their spirit.

This unfortunate situation happens because, when the believers underestimate the power of their tongues, according to their faith, their tongues are stripped of their power.

The only way of fixing this problem is by understanding how powerful your tongues are, in the spiritual realm. With that understanding, it will be easy for you to believe your tongues are powerful, and with that faith, you will give power to your tongues in the spiritual realm.

I’ll start by giving you three scriptures that will help you understand the power of your tongues, in the spiritual realm.

Daniel 11:32

Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

This scripture reveals to us something profound about power in the spiritual realm. If you are keen on the second part of the scripture, you should have realized that the ability to do great exploits is based on the knowledge someone has about God.

This is true in the spiritual realm; the more you know your God, the more power you get. Jesus is the most powerful in the spiritual realm, because He knows the Father better than anyone else.

Makes sense?

But here is the big question: how does someone get to know God deeply, so that he can gain more power in the spiritual realm?

Simple…

1 Corinthians 2:11

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

When it comes to knowing God, there is no alternative other than to rely on the Holy Spirit. It is only the Holy Spirit who perfectly understands the mind of God, which means it is only the Holy Spirit who can help you understand God.

When you understand God, you will instantly get more power in the spiritual realm.

Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Here is the thing: the Holy Spirit, who perfectly understands God and has the highest power in the spiritual realm, dwells in us.

When we pray in tongues, we are borrowing the Holy Spirit’s perfect understanding of God to speak mysteries in the spiritual realm.

This means that our power in the spiritual realm is elevated to the level of the power of the Holy Spirit, far above all other powers.
