One time while in church, a brother asked me, “Augustine, is there a prayer you have ever prayed that God did not answer?”
I paused for a few seconds and then replied, “No.”
Curious, the brother asked a follow-up question: “How do you get God to answer all your prayers?”
His question led me into deep reflection and reminded me of an important revelation I once received.
That is the revelation I want to share with you.
My search for answers
I became born again back in my teenage years. Even though I was sincere in my faith, I still had certain concerns about the whole journey of walking with God.
It was not that I doubted God, but I had some burning questions that unsettled my faith. One of them was the same question the brother had asked me in church.
For a long time, I desired to find a way, or a formula that would make God answer all my prayers. Even though the idea sounded unrealistic, I was determined to seek and see what would happen.
In that moment, I remembered a scripture that really encouraged me from John 14:14, which says: “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
I knew it was the Holy Spirit who brought that scripture to my mind. Because of it, I found the courage to bring my questions before God.
Before kneeling down to pray, I first thought carefully about what I would ask.
The first question that came to my mind was this: “God, why do You create people and then distance Yourself from them so that they end up suffering?”
However, I felt that question might sound too harsh to ask God.
As I was still thinking about it, another scripture suddenly came to my mind from the Book of Isaiah 59:1–2:
‘Behold, the Lord ’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.’
That scripture answered my question even before I asked.
At that moment, I realized that God knew my thoughts, and there was no need for me to hold back my questions.
Asking the big question
I now went ahead and asked the big question: “Lord, how can I get all my prayers answered?”
Since God had answered my previous question with a scripture, I expected Him to respond the same way.
But after the prayer, there was silence. No scripture, no impression in my heart; Nothing.
The silence confused me.
I wondered: “Did God not answer my previous question instantly? Why is He silent now?”
My mind began racing with many thoughts. I even wondered whether my question had been foolish.
Yet I reminded myself that God Himself had said I could ask anything in His name.
Eventually, to avoid overthinking the situation, I left my room and continued with other activities. I tried my best not to think about what had happened just so I could have peace.
Little did I know that God was preparing an answer that would perfectly satisfy my curiosity.
An unexpected encounter
Several months later, I attended a church service as usual. It seemed like an ordinary service, but God had other plans.
We began the worship session, which happened to be my favorite part of the service. That day, the worship session lasted nearly three hours; good for me!
After singing for what felt like a very long time, I suddenly began to feel tension building in my body. I did not understand what was happening, but it kept increasing.
Concerned that something unexpected might happen, I quickly sat down. I barely settled in my chair before everything suddenly exploded.
All I remember is finding myself in a place surrounded by bright white light.
The light contained everything good beyond description. Although I did not see a face, I could sense the presence of someone within the light.
In that moment, I felt a level of satisfaction I had never experienced before.
There were no negative memories, no worries, and every possible desire I could think of seemed to be perfectly fulfilled.
The experience lasted only about three seconds, but they were the most incredible three seconds of my life.
Then, just as suddenly as the encounter began, it vanished.
When I regained my awareness, I realized I was lying on the floor. I had no idea how I got there or what had happened.
The explanation
As I sat there reflecting on the experience, the Holy Spirit began explaining everything to me.
He first reminded me of a scripture from John 8:12, where Jesus says that He is the light of the world.
The Holy Spirit explained that the light I experienced was Jesus Himself and that I felt that the light was alive because He is alive.
I was made to understand that I had experienced Jesus in the dimension of light. That is why I saw no face; only living light filled with life and goodness.
The answer to all prayers
Then the Holy Spirit said something that took me back to the question I had asked months earlier.
He said, “That is the answer to all your prayers.”
At first, the meaning did not fully register. But as I thought about it, I realized the depth of that revelation.
Here is the explanation:
Jesus is the answer to every prayer that has ever been made and every prayer that will ever be made. However, it is not always easy for us to understand this because our thinking is limited by our three-dimensional experience of life.
Most of us know Jesus only as the man who lived on earth.
But the truth is that Jesus exists in many infinite dimensions that we have never experienced or heard of.
In my case, I was allowed to briefly experience one of those dimensions, which is the dimension of light.
And in that moment, I realized that there is nothing I have ever desired, currently desire, or will ever desire that is not fulfilled through Jesus.
The final revelation
The Holy Spirit then explained that when Jesus is finally revealed at the end of time, He will be the answer to every prayer that has ever been made.
In that moment and for eternity, every longing will be satisfied. There will be no more requests before God, only worship.
To add icing on the cake, the Holy Spirit gave me a scripture from the Book of Revelation 21:4:
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.’
He told me to always remember it for one reason;
Every prayer you have prayed, every question you have asked, every sacrifice you have made, every tear you have shed, and every pain you have endured or will ever endure is recorded, and you will be compensated when the time of Revelation 21:4 comes.
This revelation keeps me going and praying, no matter how dark everything seems. I hope it transforms your prayer life as well.
