I Prayed in Tongues for 2 Hours and got an Amazing Revelation

On Wednesday, 3rd December, I prayed in tongues for 2 hours non-stop and received an amazing revelation.

I lead a 2-hour praying in tongues session every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I frequently have spiritual experiences, although I do not always get the chance to share them.

Today, I’ll share with you the revelation I got during that particular prayer session.

The revelation really motivated me to pray in tongues more, and I believe it will motivate you as well.

Preparation for the Session

Before I share the revelation, let me start by telling you how I prepared for the session. How you prepare for a praying in tongues session determines a lot about how the session turns out.

On the day of the prayer session, I did a water and fruit fast. I only drank water and ate an orange from morning to evening. The prayer session was scheduled to start at 6pm.

I held the fast to sharpen my spiritual senses, choosing a water fast to keep myself hydrated. I added an orange for flavor in my mouth.

Besides the fast, I took a short nap during the day. I was feeling tired after the day’s work and I didn’t want to feel sleepy during the 2-hour praying in tongues session.

I intended to spend some time during the day reading the word of God and worshipping, but unfortunately, I did not get the chance.

Reading the word of God and having a moment of worship helps keep the mind spiritually focused. When you go to pray later on, it becomes easy to soak in the spirit.

So, how did the session turn out?

Session Execution

I started the session with sweet flowing tongues. I found that to be unusual. In many cases, praying in tongues sessions begin with dry tongues and only become sweet after persistent praying.

Given that I had neither spent time in worship nor prayed in tongues during the day, I didn’t expect tongues to be that sweet from the beginning.

In my curiosity, I desired to know why tongues were flowing so easily. I wanted to know so that I could replicate the right thing I had done on other days.

The Holy Spirit revealed to me that it had to do with spiritual alignment that day. He helped me understand that on some days, the enemy fails to put obstacles in the way of believers.

This happens if a believer has maintained holy standards and not given the devil a foothold. He then clarified that many believers mess up with the words of their mouths.

Once a believer utters careless words, their tongue is defiled, and it loses spiritual power. As a result, the tongues feel dry.

After about 30 minutes of flawless tongues, I felt the Holy Spirit lead me into intercession. The tongues I was speaking switched to pleading.

I couldn’t tell exactly what I was interceding for, but I could tell I was interceding for something.

While still wondering what I was interceding for, the Holy Spirit gave me an amazing revelation.

The Revelation…

While still interceding in tongues, the Holy Spirit brought to my attention the story of Elisha and the widow’s oil.

In case you’ve forgotten the details of the story, let me remind you.

A widow approached Elisha and told him her husband was God-fearing, but he died. She then said her husband had a debt, and the man he owed money to was threatening to take away her two sons.

Elisha asked her what she had. She told him she only had a small jar of olive oil. Elisha then instructed her to collect empty jars from her neighbors and fill them with oil.

She did as she was instructed, and the oil from the small jar never stopped flowing until all the jars were filled.

The Holy Spirit helped me understand that when we pray in tongues, He purifies our tongues. When our tongues are pure, they get spiritual authority.

With that spiritual authority, we can command miracles to happen, and they happen.

In the case of Elisha, his tongue had authority such that he instructed the widow what to do and the miracle happened according to his instruction.

Biggest Lesson Learned

From the 2-hour praying in tongues session, I learned that the Holy Spirit always desires to give us power. If we walk in purity, we get His full power. With His full power, we can perform miracles at will.

Therefore, always understand that whenever you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit is purifying you to empower you to do mighty works.
