Many believers who pray in tongues become concerned when their tongues keep repeating. They feel their tongues are not powerful.
However, that is far from the truth.
Today, I’m going to explain to you why your tongues are powerful in the spirit, even if they repeat in the physical.
And before you ask what authority I have to discuss this matter, I am a believer who has been speaking in tongues on a daily basis for 10 good years.
In those years, I’ve experienced many things relating to praying in tongues, including repeating tongues.
If that doesn’t convince you to trust me on this matter, I don’t know what will.
Context
Let me begin by giving you biblical context to help you understand what I’m talking about.
Take note of the following verses;
First verse, Exodus 5:1-2. The Bible says…
Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’” And Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.”
The second verse I want you to pay attention to is Exodus 8:1-2. It says…
And the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me. But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with frogs.
The last verse of interest I want you to take note of is Exodus 12:31-32.
Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”
These three verses highlight a very important spiritual principle that will help you understand why your tongues are powerful in the spirit, even if they repeat a lot in the physical.
Explanation
I’m sure you’ve read the story of Moses many times. The Lord sent him with a very simple instruction. God instructed Moses to tell Pharaoh to let His people go so that they may worship Him in the wilderness.
However, Pharaoh was not the type of person to be easily convinced. He questioned the power of the God who had sent Moses. He didn’t think that God was powerful enough to make him release the Israelites.
That went on until the plagues started. The command to let the people of God go was no longer just words. Each command came with a plague that would make Pharaoh think twice about his resistance.
By the tenth plague, the statement ‘Let my people go’ was no longer just words but a painful reminder to Pharaoh of the power of the God of Moses.
Eventually, Pharaoh released the children of Israel and quoted the same statement he had heard nine times before, without heeding: ‘And go, serve the Lord.’
From a spiritual standpoint, Pharaoh was hardened by his gods. He was full of pride and believed that no power could stop him.
God chose to humble him using a statement that he kept repeating through his servant Moses. Remember, Moses had stuttering speech, which must have made Pharaoh despise the message even more.
However, with every mention of the command, its spiritual power was increased. The plagues got severe the more the statement ‘Let my people go’ was mentioned.
Relation to Praying in Tongues
When you pray in tongues and keep repeating syllables, each time you mention them, God increases their power. This is a proven spiritual principle.
In the case of Moses, his command was initially ignored, but God kept increasing its power the more he repeated it to Pharaoh.
Eventually, Pharaoh had to bow to the command despite his best efforts to resist it.
Likewise, when you pray in tongues, there are spiritual forces that oppose you. Some of the spiritual forces are very strong. Because of their power, the Holy Spirit leads you to repeat your syllables to increase their power until you overcome those evil forces.
For this reason, you should never despise your tongues even if they repeat in the physical. Spiritually, they are gaining more power the more you repeat them.
God bless you!
