Understanding Dreams of Flying After Praying in Tongues

Have you ever prayed in tongues and then gone to sleep and dreamed you were flying?

This is something that happens quite often, especially the more you pray in tongues and soak deeper in the spirit.

There is a deep spiritual meaning behind such dreams, and they are largely a good sign.

They often indicate spiritual growth and advancement.

I will be explaining what these dreams mean and what usually happens spiritually when you experience them.

A sign of spiritual freedom and growth

The first thing you need to understand about dreams of flying is that they represent spiritual freedom.

The spiritual realm operates in a similar way to the physical realm when it comes to territories. Just as people own land, property, and territories physically, the same concept applies spiritually.

In the spiritual realm, believers occupy spiritual territories, and the size of that territory depends on their spiritual maturity, strength, and understanding.

When you are still young in the spirit, your spiritual territory is usually small, and your spiritual strength is still developing. To occupy greater spiritual territory, you need a stronger spiritual capacity, which is built through prayer and growing in the knowledge of God.

When you are young spiritually, the Holy Spirit limits your exposure for your own protection. But as you grow, He grants you greater spiritual movement, creating room for deeper spiritual experiences and enabling you to carry out spiritual assignments such as warfare and intercession.

When you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit builds and strengthens your spirit. This is why the bible says in the book of 1 Corinthians 14:4 that whoever prays in tongues edifies himself.

As your spirit becomes stronger, you gain greater spiritual mobility and authority. This is often when dreams of flying begin.

Flying instead of running

Many believers initially dream of running away from danger. But as they mature spiritually, these dreams often change from running to flying away.

This shift represents spiritual advancement. Instead of struggling, striving, or barely escaping, you are now able to rise above attacks.

Flying demonstrates that you have reached a level where you can easily escape danger, move swiftly, and overcome spiritual opposition with greater authority.

Flying shows that the holy spirit is carrying you

Another meaning of flying dreams is that they represent the Holy Spirit carrying you.

When you begin praying in tongues, your spirit is often weighed down by burdens, fears, and other issues of life. These things make the spirit heavy.

However, as you persist in prayer, the Holy Spirit gradually removes these burdens, making your spirit lighter and free.

The lighter your spirit becomes, the easier it is for the Holy Spirit to move you.

In dreams, this often appears as being carried by wind, floating, or flying effortlessly. It symbolizes deep surrender to the Holy Spirit.

When you feel heavy or unable to move in dreams, it usually points to unresolved burdens.

Persistent prayer allows the Holy Spirit to remove these weights, leading to freedom.

A reflection of good spiritual health

Flying in dreams also represents strong spiritual health.

Just as the body has a level of health, so does your spirit. When your spirit is healthy, you are able to stand against attacks, resist oppression, and move freely.

Many spiritual attacks occur in dreams. But when you are spiritually strong, you either overcome those attacks or effortlessly move away from them.

This is why flying dreams often bring joy, peace, and relief as they symbolize victory, safety, and spiritual dominance.

If you’re experiencing attacks in the physical realm, it’s most likely because you lack enough strength in the spirit to fight back or fly away from danger.

Flying is a gateway to deeper spiritual encounters

As you continue to grow spiritually, flying dreams can progress into deeper spiritual experiences like seeing visions and having divine encounters.

Before the Holy Spirit introduces deeper encounters, He first lightens your spirit.

Once this process is complete, He can carry your spirit into higher spiritual experiences, revelations, and assignments.

Conclusion

Flying in dreams is often a sign that you are entering a deeper level in the spiritual realm.

If you desire to reach this level in the spirit, continue praying in tongues faithfully and allow the Holy Spirit to strengthen your spirit, remove burdens, and deepen your fellowship with God.

With time, these signs will naturally begin to manifest.

God bless you.
