Now, not all the hours that we usually pray in tongues are equal. There are variations in the spirit depending on the time that you pray in tongues. In this article, I will explain the significance of praying in tongues at midnight.

Praying in tongues at midnight

When you take the opportunity to pray in tongues at midnight, you will find that it is easier to do so compared to praying during the day.

This does not diminish the impact of prayers made at other times, but praying at midnight increases the likelihood of experiencing a breakthrough and a deep spiritual connection.

There is a good reason as to why praying in tongues at midnight allows for a quicker connection in the spirit and I will explain.

Making a sacrifice

The first reason for praying in tongues at midnight is the act of making a sacrifice. Whenever a sacrifice is made, the prayers offered are like a sweet aroma to God.

Our prayers are presented before God as a fragrance, so when a sacrifice is made through prayer, it becomes sweet and pleasing to Him.

By choosing to pray in tongues at midnight, one is essentially sacrificing sleep. Night-time is designated for rest and sleep, so opting to pray during this time requires sacrificing that rest.

Praying in tongues at this time is similar to holding a fast, as it involves sacrificing sleep, which is a sacrifice that pleases God.

Reduced defilement

The second reason why praying in tongues at midnight holds significance in the spiritual realm is due to the reduced defilement at that time. It is important to recognize that events in the physical realm have an impact on the spiritual realm.

Throughout the day, people engage in various activities, many of which are sinful. Consequently, the atmosphere becomes tainted with defilement, making it challenging to break through in prayer.

The abundance of sinful activities also strengthens evil spirits, further complicating the process of overcoming them. As a result, it takes longer to pray effectively and experience the presence of God.

However, during midnight, most people are asleep leading to fewer activities and in turn, less sin. Because of this, the atmosphere is less defiled compared to daytime, making it easier to access the spiritual realm.

This reminds me of a certain observation from my time in school. Wednesdays were dedicated to a special Christian service, and there was a strict dress code enforced on that day. This led to a sense of purity and less immorality in the school environment.

For that reason, prayers made on Wednesdays often resulted in breakthroughs. I distinctly remember a particularly powerful encounter with God that took place on a Wednesday during one of our fellowships.

This strengthened my belief that Wednesdays were indeed conducive for spiritual breakthroughs. This same principle also applies when praying in tongues at night or midnight, facilitating faster breakthroughs.

A time of transition

The third reason why praying in tongues at midnight holds great significance in the spiritual realm is due to the fact that midnight is a time of transition.

Understand that during times of transition, there is often intense spiritual warfare. This is because during transitions, there is a high chance of accessing specific territories where significant events are unfolding.

Remember that when Jesus and Moses were born, it was during these transitional periods that the enemy sought to attack and destroy them. These moments of transition are considered vulnerable times in the spiritual realm, as evil forces intend to take advantage during these crucial times.

Just as the devil tried to tempt Jesus at the onset of His ministry, transitions are times when believers must be very vigilant to establish a solid foundation.

It is important to be aware that the enemy often seeks to gain access to our lives during the midnight hour, as this is the time when he can sow seeds of discord and other ungodly influences.

Many individuals who are involved in the occult also choose to practice their rituals during this time, as it is the beginning of the day and they seek to exert their influence over it.

However, by choosing to pray in tongues at midnight, we are able to counter these negative forces and sow positive seeds for the day ahead.
