Praying in tongues is very powerful, but most believers rarely ever experience its full power. That is because, they don’t know how to unlock the full power of their tongues.
Here is what I have observed; some praying in tongues believers pray in tongues diligently, but their lives are a mess. For a long time, it puzzled me how tongues can be powerful yet some believers who pray in tongues diligently, still struggle in their lives.
That went on until when the Holy Spirit revealed to me a hidden spiritual principle that I’ll be sharing with you today. This principle is the difference between experiencing the full power of your tongues and experiencing no power from your tongues.
When I learned this principle from the Holy Spirit, the impact of my tongues increased significantly. Finally, I could show tangible results for the effort I put into praying in tongues.
Ready to learn the spiritual principle that will unlock the full power of your tongues? Let’s get started…
The Mistake of Many Praying in Tongues Believers…
Before I tell you the spiritual principle, let me start by telling you the error that many praying in tongues believers make. It is only after you understand the error that you will appreciate the principle that was given to solve it.
For many praying in tongues believers, tongues are a magic button that they press, and expect a perfect life. I can’t blame them though, that is the narrative that is widely taught.
While the teaching is intended to encourage believers to pray in tongues, it leaves many asking why praying in tongues is not working for them. That is because that narrative is not entirely true.
You see, praying in tongues is only one piece of the puzzle. It is an important piece of the puzzle, yes, but the puzzle cannot be solved with one piece.
I don’t want you to remain ignorant and confused why your tongues are not yielding any results in your life. That is why I am sharing with you a spiritual principle, that will change your story for good.
If you careful to walk according to this principle that the Holy Spirit revealed, you will never ask again why your tongues are not yielding fruit.
Let’s dive in…
Solution Context…
Let me start by giving you 3 scriptures that the Holy Spirit used to help me explain the principle.
The first scripture was Jonah 1:3. The Bible says…
But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
I know you might be wondering, how this verse applies in this context. But don’t worry, I’ll show you why the Holy Spirit used this scripture.
Before then, let me give you the second scripture. 1 Samuel 15:9. The Bible says…
But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.
Again, this is a very strange scripture in this context, but it forms an important part of the foundation of the spiritual principle that the Holy Spirit revealed to me.
Let me give you the last scripture then I’ll explain how all the scriptures merge beautifully.
The last verse is from 2 Corinthians 10:6. It says…
and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Mark these three scriptures as we get into the revelation.
The Revelation…
The first scripture tells us of Jonah, who got a very clear instruction from God, but chose to disobey it. After his disobedience, things fell apart.
This brings me to the second verse, which tells us a similar story. In 1 Samuel 15:9, King Saul disobeyed a very clear instruction from God. As a result, he lost his kingship.
Now, I want you to notice a pattern in these two verses.
In both cases, the people involved know God very well. They clearly know what God wants from them, but for some reason, they choose to disobey God.
What is even more important is the manner in which God handles their disobedience. God gives Jonah over to the power of nature. He is tossed by the wind in the sea and eventually swallowed by a fish.
On the other hand, God takes away leadership power from King Saul, which makes people despise him and honor David.
This brings me to the principle that the Holy Spirit revealed to me. The tongues that we speak are words given to us by the Holy Spirit.
When we speak them, God honors what we say and is moved to respond. However, God subjects us to a test, because it is God’s principle to test people before granting their request.
The test that God gives us is the test of obedience. God gives us a simple instruction for us to carry out. If we obey and do as He commands, our obedience unlocks the full power of God that works miracles for us.
If we disobey, we never get to experience the full power of God working miracles in our lives.
This is where 2 Corinthians 10:6 comes in; when our obedience is complete, God gives us the power to reign over every disobedient situation in our lives.
The tongues we speak are the commands we give to disobedient situations in our lives to obey the will of God.
God bless you!
