When you hear the mystery I’m going to share, you will never struggle with doubt again when praying in tongues. This knowledge will help you crush every doubt you have about the tongues you speak.
For many praying-in-tongues believers, doubt is a major hindrance to the tongues they speak. Because of the doubts, they never enjoy praying in tongues.
That has to stop today. I’m going to share with you a mystery from the Lord that will empower you to overcome doubt when praying in tongues once and for all.
This is not an empty claim. This exact mystery is what helped me overcome doubt in my early days of praying in tongues. I struggled a lot with doubt in my first days of praying in tongues. I know what it feels like to struggle with doubt in the gift of tongues.
If I overcame through this knowledge, why would you not?
Let’s get right into it.
The Doubt Challenge
Let’s talk about doubt in the gift of tongues before we discuss its solution. How will you solve a problem you don’t understand?
Here is what typically happens: a believer starts to desire the gift of tongues. They see other believers speaking in tongues and feel they would benefit greatly if they had the gift as well.
Because of their desire, they start researching how to receive the gift. They listen to testimonies of how other believers received the gift. They watch sermons of Men of God talking about it and read books about it.
They gain knowledge about the gift and begin to feel confident that they can receive it. That belief is helped by statements like ‘Anyone can receive this gift if they desire it’.
At that point, they ‘just ask for the gift’ according to the advice they got from their research. It seems simple and straightforward.
However, that’s where disappointment and doubt start to creep in. After asking, nothing happens. Just silence.
The silence leaves them puzzled. “Am I not asking the right way? Do I have sin that is stopping me from receiving the gift? What’s going on?”
These and more questions flood their minds.
At that point, they decide that they need proper impartation from a Man of God. They doubt their own ability to just ask for the gift and receive it.
By chance, they get a Man of God to lay hands on them to receive the gift. They feel confident that it will work.
However, to their disappointment, they barely feel any power from the Holy Spirit. They don’t see flaming tongues come upon them like the day of Pentecost.
Their confusion is compounded when the Man of God tells them they have indeed received the gift. He asks them to ‘just start speaking’.
“But what exactly is ‘Just start speaking’?” They ask themselves.
Because of the pressure, they start mumbling some syllables, but they have no way of confirming if those syllables mean anything.
It’s an awkward experience for them, but they don’t know what to do. At that point, their doubt in the gift is at an all-time high.
Despite pushing themselves to speak in tongues, they can’t tell whether they have the gift or not.

Context
To help you understand the Lord’s mystery in overcoming doubt, let me begin by highlighting three important scriptures.
First scripture: Proverbs 11:14. The Bible says…
Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
The second scripture is from Matthew 18:20. The Bible says…
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
The last scripture I want you to take note of is from Hebrews 10:25. This is what it says…
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.
These three scriptures combine to reveal a deep mystery that solves the problem of doubt in the gift of speaking in tongues.

The Mystery
Proverbs 11:14 talks about wise counsel. It specifically mentions that there is safety in numbers.
This is the first principle in the mystery that helps you overcome doubt when praying in tongues.
Praying in tongues is a battle. It takes faith to pray in tongues, and the enemy attacks our faith daily.
For you to win this battle, you need many advisors, just as it is recorded in Proverbs 11:14
Two: Jesus assured us that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst.
This assurance points to the second important principle that will help you pray in tongues and overcome doubt.
Praying in tongues becomes sweet only after the presence of the Lord fills the room. When you gather as brethren and pray in tongues, it is easy to attract God’s presence based on the principle in this verse.
Lastly, the Bible urges us not to forsake the assembly of brethren in Hebrews 10:25. It goes on to explain that gathering in fellowship helps us exhort one another.
This is an important principle that completes the mystery that will help you overcome doubt when praying in tongues.
When you pray in tongues with other believers in a fellowship, the power of their prayers and the gracious words from their lips uplift your spirit. When that happens, praying in tongues becomes easier for you, even if you are just a beginner.

If you are really struggling with doubt when praying in tongues, join a fellowship of brethren and pray in tongues with them.
That simple move is a deep mystery from the Lord. With it, you will have an easy time battling the doubts the enemy throws at you, and it will be easy for you to experience the presence of the Lord.
