Have you ever woken up feeling so tired in the morning just because you were having dreams about fighting evil spirits the whole night?
This is quite familiar, because many times when you’re fighting those evil spirits, even though it is in your dreams, you will usually wake up very tired.
The fatigue may even affect your productivity during the day, making it a very unpleasant experience, especially if it happens from time to time.
I have experienced this several times, and that is why I am addressing it today.
Now, it is very discouraging when you are a devout believer, yet you’re constantly being attacked by evil spirits in your dreams.
Even though the Holy Spirit helps you fight, it is still very upsetting to have such repeating dreams.
But before you get angry at these kinds of dreams and brush them off, or shut them down completely, you need to understand why you are having them and how to react.
Shattering of faith
The main reason why you get these kinds of dreams is simply because the enemy is targeting your faith.
People who do not have faith usually do not get these kinds of attacks because the enemy does not have a reason to attack them.
The enemy targets your faith because he knows that through it, you have a relationship with God. He also understands that it is through that faith that you receive everything from the Lord.
Basically, every good thing the Lord gives you is according to your level of faith.
Because the enemy wants to separate you from God, as he has tried from the very beginning, he knows that your faith is where to strike.
How the enemy attacks your faith through dreams
Now, you may be asking yourself, how does the enemy attack my faith through these dreams?
First of all, this is actually a good sign, because it shows that you have cultivated some faith.
The enemy knows that faith is a byproduct of your knowledge. The more you know God, the more faith you have in Him.
If God has done something for you before, such as a miracle, then based on that knowledge, you can believe that He will do it again.
If you believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross to save you from sin, then whenever you struggle with sin, you will run back to Him because you know what He has done.
But because the enemy wants to keep you in bondage, he does not want you running back to God or receiving help from Him. So what he does is bring these kinds of dreams to frustrate you to the point where you begin doubting God.
You start to doubt whether God can truly save you from these attacks. The enemy then tries to convince you that God cannot protect you against him, and that is what he wants to plant in your mind.
He wants you to doubt God’s love, protection, provision, and every good gift He has promised you. Because once you reach a point where you are no longer sure that God is good to you, you begin to lose your faith.
And faith is the most important thing in your relationship with God.
Praying in tongues in dreams
Now, if you have the gift of praying in tongues, you will notice that anytime you have these kinds of attacks in your dreams, the Holy Spirit will prompt you to begin praying in tongues.
The Holy Spirit understands the schemes of the enemy. He knows how the enemy is trying to discourage you and drain your faith. So, He leads you to fight back by praying in tongues.
That is why you will often find yourself praying in tongues in your dreams during these attacks.
When this happens, it reassures you that the Holy Spirit is with you and that God is on your side.

The key takeaway from all this is that you must watch and pray, because the enemy roams around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
You must remember that the Holy Spirit has been given to you to help you pray even in your sleep when you are not able to do so consciously.
Always follow His prompting to pray in tongues whenever you face attacks in a dream.
