The wisdom I’m going to share with you will make you pray in tongues without fear. No matter how bad your fear is, this wisdom will end it.
Here is the thing: many believers who pray in tongues struggle with fear. Because of that fear, their gift of tongues doesn’t bear fruit.
That has to stop today. With the right knowledge, you will easily overcome fear and pray in tongues like never before.
I have walked this exact journey before. I used to be very fearful when I first received the gift of tongues. I would speak in tongues timidly.
Later on, I realized that boldness is necessary if you want to see the impact of your tongues. That’s when I began praying to the Holy Spirit to help me overcome the fear I had.
By His power, I overcame all the fear. The result was powerful tongues that have yielded great results in my life.
I’m sharing with you the wisdom the Holy Spirit taught me during that journey in case you are stuck in fear as I was.
Let’s dive in.
The Fear Factor
Before I tell you how to overcome fear so that you pray in tongues boldly, let me begin by sharing how fear affects your tongues. It is only after you understand the effects of fear on your speaking in tongues that you will appreciate the wisdom to overcome the fear.
Think of this: a believer desires the gift of tongues. His desire stems from testimonies of other believers concerning the gift.
In the testimonies, he hears that if he prays in tongues, his life would be perfect. The believers giving the testimonies show tangible miracles that the Lord has done for them through praying in tongues. The results of their tongues are amazing.
Because of the overwhelming testimonies, the believer seeks to receive the gift of tongues. He asks for the gift, and the Lord grants it to him.
However, the believer has great fear. In his mind, he is not sure if the gift is true. Additionally, he is afraid of speaking in tongues because he fears he might offend God.
As a result, he starts seeking confirmation. After asking a number of tongues-speaking believers, the response he gets is that he just needs to believe he has the gift and speak.
But his fear won’t let him do it. A few times, he tries to mumble a few syllables, but he is afraid because he doesn’t want other people to know that he speaks in tongues.
In the end, the believer is left wondering why speaking in tongues isn’t working for him.
If this sounds familiar, you have allowed fear to hold back your praying in tongues potential. You need to break free from that prison of fear.
That’s why I’m sharing with you the wisdom the Holy Spirit gave me.
Listen and learn.
Context
Before I share with you the wisdom that the Holy Spirit gave me, let me start by highlighting the scriptures I received from the Holy Spirit. These scriptures will help you understand the wisdom that the Holy Spirit gave me.
First scripture; Proverbs 28:1. The Bible says…
The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
The second important scripture is from the book of John 9:16. It says…
Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.
The last important scripture I want you to pay attention to is from the book of Mark 8:27-28. It says…
Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?” So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”
These three scriptures carry great wisdom that will help you overcome fear and pray in tongues with full potential.
The Wisdom
The Bible starts off by telling us the wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Why do the wicked flee? Simple, because they are afraid.
And why are the righteous bold as a lion? Simple, because they do what is right.
Now, I’ll ask you a question: Is speaking in tongues a righteous thing to do or a wicked thing to do?
If you say righteous, then I’ll ask, why should you be afraid when doing it?
Many praying-in-tongues believers who struggle with fear have chosen to believe that praying in tongues is not the right thing to do. That flawed belief kills their confidence in the gift of tongues.
If you really want to pray in tongues boldly, start by believing that it is the right thing to do.
Secondly, the Bible highlights a very interesting occurrence in the book of John 9:16. In that verse, the Pharisees were debating whether Jesus was a sinner or a righteous man.
The interesting thing is that they could not agree, and Jesus Himself was minding His own business.
This highlights a very important point: why fear the opinions of people when they can’t even agree on one opinion about you?
When you pray in tongues, people will have varied opinions about it. But none of that should scare you because they won’t agree on one opinion about you. They will be divided, and their division will mean they can’t do anything against you.
If you want to pray in tongues, go ahead and pray in tongues. Those who talk about you will be answerable to God.
In the same manner, we are told of another incident where Jesus asked His disciples who people thought He was. As you would expect, there were varied opinions about Him.
Was Jesus asking because He didn’t know what people thought of Him? Nope!
He was asking to make His own disciples aware of what they thought about Him.
What does this teach us about fear and praying in tongues?
This teaches us to have confidence in who we are and what we are doing, such that when we ask for the opinion of others, it is merely to let them be aware of what they think about us.
“I am a praying in tongues believer, and I know I am doing the right thing. I do not need someone to approve what I do because I’m speaking mysteries in the spiritual realm that he doesn’t understand anyway.” This is the mindset we must have if we want to overcome fear and speak in tongues boldly.
With that, we will see a great impact of the tongues we speak in our lives.
