Why Crying When Praying in Tongues Is a Good Spiritual Sign

There are moments when you will unexpectedly start crying while praying in tongues, and it is important to know that this is a good sign. I will explain why crying while praying in tongues is a positive sign and why you should treasure these emotional moments.

Personally, I have often found myself in tears while praying in tongues. This mostly happens when I am fervently praying in tongues and meditating on the works of Jesus Christ.

There are also instances when the Lord reveals something to me, bringing me to tears. These experiences have taught me valuable lessons that I will share with you.

Deep Connection with God

Crying while praying in tongues signifies a deep and intimate connection with God. This emotional response is often triggered by moments of revelation or when God allows you to experience His own emotions.

Experiencing God’s grief and emotions to the point of tears is a sign of a strong relationship with Him.

I remember the moments when I used to weep, and during such times, I felt very close to God. I sensed His presence and felt connected to the heavenly throne room.

Similarly, there are others who become emotional and shed tears because they are connected to the Lord and are experiencing His emotions, demonstrating their deep connection with God at that moment.

Deep concern for God

The second reason why shedding tears while praying in tongues is a positive sign is because it demonstrates a deep concern for God’s matters and emotions.

If you truly care about the Lord, you will certainly empathize with His pain when He reveals His feelings towards certain issues to you.

There are moments when the Lord will reveal certain things to you, and some of these revelations will stir up emotions that bring you to tears.

This emotional response stems from your ability to understand God’s emotions in a particular situation, allowing you to feel the depth of His sorrow, which in turn moves you to tears.

There were instances when God would reveal to me certain matters that were in His heart. On one particular day during prayer, the Lord posed a profound question to me: “Why don’t people want me?”

This question prompted a deep reflection on my part. I came to realize that God has done everything in His power, even to the extent of sacrificing His Only Son, just to demonstrate His great love for mankind.

Despite this immense display of love, many people continue to reject Him and turn away.

I found myself at a loss for an answer, unsure of how to respond, and I was moved to tears by the weight of what I had discerned from the heart of God.

Such a moment can only be experienced when one truly values the things of God and empathizes with His emotions.

Deliverance by the Holy Spirit

Shedding tears during prayer in tongues also signifies the Holy Spirit taking away your pain.

Praying in tongues allows the Holy Spirit to deliver us from our burdens, stress, and life’s turmoil, ultimately bringing us peace.

Sometimes we go through many life challenges that have left us feeling weary and overwhelmed. However, when the Holy Spirit intervenes and removes those burdens, reminding us of the freedom from guilt and bitterness that He has freely granted us, it often brings us to tears.

This mainly happens when we reflect on the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The memory of past struggles and the realization of God’s grace in delivering us from bondage and sin often brings tears of gratitude.

Those are three main reasons why you might experience tears while praying in tongues.             These are beautiful moments that provide great relief from our pain and allows us to connect with the feelings of the Lord. Blessings!
