The Power of Altars| Deep Mystery That Will Change Your Praying in Tongues Approach

I’m about to share with you a hidden truth that will completely change how you pray in tongues. If praying in tongues has been a challenge, this could be the mystery you’ve been waiting for. Trust me!

I have spoken to many tongues-speaking believers, who could not point out a single benefit of their praying in tongues efforts. They were diligently praying in tongues, but they could not show any impact of the prayers in their life.

When the Holy Spirit revealed this mystery to me, my tongues shifted in power, and their impact in my life was undeniable. To this day, this revelation remains one of the greatest turning points in my journey of praying in tongues.

Excited to learn the mystery? Let’s get started!

The Mistake of Many Praying in Tongues Believers

Let me start by outlining a mistake that many praying in tongues believers make. The mystery the Holy Spirit revealed to me was specifically designed to solve this mistake.

Many believers can pray in tongues, but few can establish an altar. The inability of believers to establish altars significantly holds back the impact of their praying in tongues efforts.

Altars are so powerful in the spiritual realm that they can give you results without the need to say a single prayer. With this level of significance, you can understand why some praying in tongues believers get results even with bare minimum prayer, while others apply great effort in prayer, but still don’t see any change.

Now that I’ve explained to you the mistake, it is only fair that I give you the solution.

Solution Context

Let’s begin by understanding the significance of altars from the scriptures.

The first scripture is from Genesis 12:8. The Bible says…

And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.

This verse is talking about Abraham, the father of faith and the friend of God, erecting an altar. I want you to take note of a few key things.

Abraham was erecting this altar shortly after he had left Haran, the land of his fathers. Leaving his father’s land was a huge sacrifice on Abraham’s part. Imagine leaving a place you have stayed for 75 years.

Also, Abraham had made arguably the biggest gamble of his life; forsaking his earthly father to follow God, whom he had never seen.

This altar that Abraham set up marked the first place Abraham settled outside his father’s land. Interestingly, though Abraham set up a tent for himself, the place was eventually called ‘The House of God’.

This brings me to the second scripture, Genesis 28:16-17. The Bible says…

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”

About 160 years later, Jacob, Abraham’s grandson, while fleeing from his brother Esau, “accidentally” rests at Bethel. That same night, he sees a ladder going up to heaven with angels ascending and descending with God above it.

When Jacob wakes up, he is terrified that he slept on God’s altar and he did not know it.

I want you to pause and take note of a few things here;

First, the fact that there were still angels ascending and descending over 160 years after the altar was set up should give you a glimpse of the power of altars.

Second, the fact that God introduced Himself to Jacob as the God of Abraham on the altar that Abraham set up should tell you how much God honors the altars that people raise for Him.

Lastly, the fact that God repeated the promise He had made to Abraham when Jacob was sleeping on the same altar should tell you that God’s promises are tied to altars, and individuals only benefit when they align themselves with the altars.

This is very true when you trace the first defeat in Israel’s history. Israel as a nation tasted their first defeat at Ai, which was on the east side of Bethel, the exact spot where Abraham set up an altar for God.

But this would make you wonder, why couldn’t God fight for them, yet they were camping right on the altar of God?

That is because someone among them named Achan had hidden defiled gold and silver, and a beautiful Babylonian garment. The defiled objects rendered the altar ineffective, and Israel was defeated.

This brings me to the deep mystery the Holy Spirit revealed to me.

The Revelation

When we pray in tongues, the altar we are standing on either guarantees victory or defeat. If we have kept the altar holy, we get breakthroughs. If we have defiled the altar, we receive nothing from God.

This means that every time you pray in tongues, you have to know the state of the altar you are praying from. If you are not sure, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the state of the altar.

When your altar is pure, the tongues you speak will always have an impact.

God bless you!
