How to Pray before a Job Interview

It is that day you have been waiting for. You want to make a prayer before you go for that job interview but you don’t know what to say.

Well, I’m here to help you know how to formulate your prayer just before you go for that job interview. Apart from helping you formulate a good prayer before you go for the job interview, I’ll help you understand a few things you didn’t expect.

Praying for Faith before a Job Interview

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. This verse should have already resonated with your soul given the situation at hand.

For believers, faith is the foundation on which all our success is built upon. Securing a job requires faith. Passing a job interview requires faith.

How does that work? You ask?

Here is the explanation…

Everything that God does in our lives has a link to the salvation of our souls. No matter how complex the link may be, it is always there.

For a wise believer, you have to constantly make sure that you mind the link to your salvation because God does.

When you have in mind the link to your salvation, you will have an easy time receiving blessings from God.

Let me make things simpler…

You want a job primarily for financial reasons. You want a good financial life because it will give you the power to enjoy life. But do you know that enjoyment of life comes from God?

Yes, it is God who gives us the ability to enjoy wealth. This means that it is possible to have a good job and good money but still fail to enjoy life.

Once you acknowledge that only God can give you the enjoyment of life, you will initiate a process that will eventually lead you to enjoy life.

How?

When you acknowledge that enjoyment of life only comes from God, the faith you have will prompt God to start working in your life to make you enjoy life.

Jesus assured us that if we believe, we will receive. If you believe only God can make you enjoy life, God will fulfill His word by granting what you believe and making you enjoy life.

So, how does all this relate to praying before a job interview?

Well, a job interview is only one of the steps that God takes you through in the grand plan to make you enjoy life.

I wanted you to understand that a job interview is only a single step in a big plan because of what I’m about to tell you next.

Once you know that you are in the bigger plan of God, a job interview will not worry you. Why? Because you will be guaranteed the enjoyment of life regardless of the outcome of the interview!

The guarantee of the enjoyment of life will give you confidence and that confidence will make you do well in the interview.

I’m sure you’ve heard people say “Pray that God may give you confidence in the interview”. Well, confidence comes from knowing that you are in God’s big plan and that interview is only a small part of it.

And how do you know that you are in God’s big plan?

Through faith!

That’s why I said pray for faith before your job interview.

Praying for Favor before a Job Interview

Many believers pray for favor before attending a job interview. But have you ever asked yourself how many people pray for favor before attending the same job interview?

What do you expect God to do when several of his children pray for favor for the same job interview?

I’ll tell you what God does…

God creates space for His children to get jobs when they have completed the training He wanted them to go through.

Those job openings are created by God Himself that He may fit in the person He has raised for a specific purpose.

For this reason, when that job opening is announced, God has a candidate prepared to fill it. That candidate usually has an inner witness that tells him “This is your job”.

Usually, the candidate is aware of the training God has taken him through and is confident of securing the job he is going to interview for.

Other believers who pray for the same job won’t get it because it doesn’t belong to them. God has a job for every believer who accepts His training and completes it.

Despite the job opening being created for a specific believer, God will require the believer to pray for favor. God also makes sure the training the believer goes through positions him to receive favor.

Remember that Queen Esther not only prayed for favor before the King but she had also been prepared for months.

Praying for Peace before a Job Interview

“In me you will have peace, in the world you will have tribulation” said King Jesus. Having peace is a kingdom guarantee for everyone who believes in Jesus.

Jesus asked us not to worry about what we shall eat nor drink nor what we shall wear for our Father in heaven knows we need those things.

The assurance we got from Jesus is meant to keep us at peace regardless of what we face. There is definitely the temptation to panic when you are about to go for a job interview but you need to be at peace.

When you panic, you are disobeying the command Jesus gave us not to fear and worry about tomorrow.

Therefore, it is wise to include a prayer for peace just before you go for the job interview.

Sample Prayer before a Job Interview

Heavenly Father, you are the maker of the heavens and the earth. I look to you today for I know you have a good plan for me. I thank you for the progress I have made so far in being called up for this job interview. I pray Lord that you help me to stay faithful to you through the coming stages. Build my faith that I may trust you every step of the way. Grant me favor as I go for the interview and may I have peace. In you I trust my Lord.

Thank you for you always hear me when I pray.

Amen!
